Troubleshooting Shopify inventory update issues
If you are having problems getting inventory to update between Shopify and SOS Inventory, take the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:
-
Check to ensure that the SKU of every item (variant) in Shopify matches the SKU of the corresponding item in SOS Inventory. NOTE: Each item in SOS Inventory must be given a unique SKU so that Shopify is able to map to the correct SOS Inventory item. However, the same SKU can be used for multiple products in Shopify (for example, if you sell products with the same SKU at different prices for different types of customers).
- Export your SOS Inventory item data (Company Menu > Data Tools > Export Data > Standard > Items). Under the Columns section of the Items export page, be sure to select Add All Items Required for Import so that you can review the spreadsheet and edit items in bulk as needed:
- Ensure every item in SOS Inventory has a unique SKU.
- Ensure the SKU of an item in SOS Inventory matches the SKU of its corresponding item in Shopify.
- Ensure the UpdateInventoryInShopify column says TRUE for each item that should update in Shopify.
- Ensure that the Update Inventory field is enabled in the Shopify cart connection (Settings Menu > Cart Connections).
- Resave the cart connection.
- If you have multiple Shopify connections, repeat Steps 1-4 for each.
Wait one hour for the quantities to update in Shopify.
