V8 - Pulse (MerchantTrack) portal

The portal to MerchantTrack, SOS Pay's credit card and ACH payment processing system, is now known as Pulse and is accessible from within SOS Inventory. In addition to processing payments, you can search Pulse for information on specific transactions, as well as run reports.

Accessing the Pulse portal

Pulse is accessible from within SOS Inventory via the SOS Pay list (Company menu > MiscellaneousSOS Pay). Click the MerchantTrack link in the upper right-hand corner of the list, directly below the Task bar:

Access to the Pulse portal is restricted to SOS Inventory users who have been granted access privileges by a company administrator. To grant access, go to Company menu > AdminUser administration. On the Users list, select Add new for a new user, or locate the appropriate existing user and click the Edit button next to the user's name. On the User page, enable Process credit card or ACH payments. If the user needs the ability to view the Payments list, enable View payments received from QuickBooks also. Save and close when finished.

Pulse portal menu

The Pulse portal has four default menus, as well as an additional menu that can be enabled by Support upon request:

A user icon in the upper right corner is on every page in Pulse. It shows your username, email address, the partner you are assigned to, as well as the option to go to the Settings section. You will also find the Logout option in the user menu.

The following subsections explain what each menu includes.

Pulse Dashboard

A sample Pulse Dashboard

The Dashboard serves as the home landing page for the Pulse portal. You can filter transactions by merchant, date range, transaction status, and processing network (ACH, Credit, Debit, or None - Failed)—from either the All Filters dropdown list or the separate dropdowns to the right of it. The Dashboard also summarizes several pieces of information, including total Transaction Amount, Transaction Count, and Average Ticket. The Daily Volume graph is interactive. If you select a data point, the graph displays a dotted line and text box that includes the date, merchant name, and total monetary amount processed for that day. A snapshot of the Recent Funding as well as the Merchant Statement report, round out the Dashboard tools. Clicking on Recent Funding's See More button will take you to the Funding Summary report. Selecting the View button takes you to a Merchant Statement pop-up to set the options for generating the statement.

Pulse Reporting

Pulse allows you to run reports on funding, transactions, chargebacks, merchant statements and deposits, and ACH returns. Most reports may be exported to CSV and/or PDF for viewing and may be sorted using the arrows in the column headers. The number of total rows viewed per page can be set from 10 to 100, directly on the report page.

The Reporting menu has two sections: Report Explorer and Large Exports.

The Report Explorer main page lists each report type that is available, along with an explanation of the capabilities for each. As previously mentioned, reports can be exported as CSV or PDF files, with the exceptions of the Merchant Statement and Merchant Deposit Report, which are available in PDF format only.

The Pulse Report Explorer offers 12 different reports that cover funding, transactions, chargebacks, merchants, and ACH returns.

The Large Exports page lists the status of large, exported reports. The system will notify you by email when a large export is ready for download.

Pulse Transaction Search

The Transaction Search landing page appears as shown below, with the most common search fields of Merchant, Date Range, Processing Network, and Account Last 4. Clicking on More Filters will display an additional pop-up, as seen below.

To conduct a transaction search:

  1. Choose the merchant/location, if assigned more than one.
  2. To narrow the criteria, select from the dropdown menus and/or enter data in any other filter field. (If no search criteria are selected except the merchant/location, the system will pull every transaction that has ever been processed for that merchant.)
  3. The search results page includes information on transaction status (Batched, Voided, Failed, Partially Refunded, Refunded, ACH Returned, or Charged Back), its amount, date and timestamp, processing network, invoice number (from SOS Inventory), account holder name, the last four digits of the account, and the customer ID. To view the details of a specific transaction, click the blue transaction ID link.
