V9 - Adjustment transaction field descriptions

If you have defined any custom fields for adjustments, they will appear after the standard SOS Inventory fields, in the Custom fields section of the adjustment transaction. The fields will be of the input format and value that you have defined.

Account. The account to which the adjustment should be posted.

Add lines (add_circle). Click the icon to add additional lines to the line item table. The number of lines added is established by the number specified by your company in the Default lines setting (Tools & settings > Configuration > Company > General).

Adjust cost basis by. The monetary value by which the total cost basis should be increased or decreased.

Adjust qty by. The difference between the Old quantity and New quantity values for an item, expressed as a positive or negative number. If the New quantity value is entered, the system will calculate the Adjust qty by value automatically.

Adjustment reference #. Transaction reference number used to identify an adjustment. The system will attempt to number the transaction automatically, according to your Adjustment numbering specifications (Tools & settings > ConfigurationInventory > Transactions).

Class. QuickBooks Online class for this line item. This field is enabled only if class tracking is enabled in QuickBooks Online.

Clear lines. Adeleteicon in the column header of a table or line-item area clears the content of all line-items in a table, but not the lines themselves. By contrast, adeleteicon in a line-item row removes both a line and its contents.

Comment. An internal note about the transaction.

Date/time. Transaction date with timestamp. Use the Now button to update it to the current date/time.

Department. Department for this transaction.

Description. The sales description for the item. If the item being adjusted is serial or lot tracked, this column will also allow a lot number with its expiration date and/or serial numbers to be specified.

Description. This multifunctional block can contain any of the following:

Fill. The Fill button, located in the Class and Job headers in the line-item table, applies the same class and/or job that was selected for the first line item to all items.

Item. Enter or select the desired item from the dropdown list. New items can also be created from within the transaction. If the item is in a bin-tracked location, you will need to select the bin for the item being adjusted.

Job. Job to which this line item belongs. This box is available only if the Job tracking setting (Tools & settings > Configuration > Production > Jobs) has been enabled in SOS Inventory.

Line. The line-item number of an item on the adjustment transaction. The order of an item can be changed using the Multitool.

Location. The location to which the adjustment pertains.

Multitool. The Multitool is a multifunctional icon located in the far-left column of a line item. Selecting the Insert tool (the right arrow in the top left corner) inserts a blank line. The Move tool (the six dots in the center) allows lines to be reordered when the dots are clicked, held, and dragged. Selecting the Copy tool (the circle with an inverted triangle in the bottom right corner) copies a line and pastes the duplicate on the next line. View the video tutorial, Using the Multitool, to see this feature in action.

infoTIP: If another line item is directly below the one you intend to copy, use the Insert tool to add a blank line before copying. This protects the existing line item that is below from being overwritten.

New quantity. The correct quantity for the item being adjusted. If the Adjust qty by value is entered, SOS Inventory will automatically calculate the New quantity value.

Now. The Now button resets the Date/time field to the current date and time. This will recalculate all values on the form.

Old quantity. The existing quantity for the item, as specified in SOS Inventory, that needs to be changed. This field cannot be edited.

UOM. The unit of measure, if the Units of Measure feature is enabled. Available on Plus and Pro plans.
