The Serial unit history report (Operations > Reports > Inventory > Serial unit history) shows the transaction history of serial-tracked items.
While the basics for running any report in SOS Inventory are covered in Reporting introduction and Running a report, the filters, options, and columns specific to the Serial unit history report are explained below.
Location. All or an individual location. All is the default.
Categories. Select All or individual categories. All is the default. Multiple individual categories can be selected. To use this filter, categories must be defined in SOS Inventory.
Item. Choose the serial-tracked item from the dropdown. If no item is selected, the report will include all serial-tracked items by default.
Serial number contains. Enter all or part of a serial number to display matching items.
Customer. Choose the desired customer from the dropdown.
Status. Select the appropriate serial unit status option for your needs: All, In stock, Used, Shipped, or Adjusted out. The default is In stock.
Group by. A set of options that allows you to group data on the report. The options include None or Item. The default is None, which displays serial numbers in numerical order. If your Group by option is set to Item, the report shows an item, followed by all serial numbers for that item.
Header. Enter header text for the report, if desired. The header appears when Display is selected under Retrieve your report. If the report is retrieved by Email or Download, the header will appear only if you print your spreadsheet.
Footer. Enter footer text for the report, if desired. The footer appears when Display is selected under Retrieve your report. If the report is retrieved by Email or Download, the footer will appear only if you print your spreadsheet and will show above the system-generated text, Report Generated [date] [timestamp].
The default columns for the Inventory stock status report are Serial number and Item. Seven additional SOS column options are available, as well as any custom fields you have defined for items.
The sample Serial unit history report below was filtered for all locations for Item Samsung S23. No options were selected. The default columns (Serial Number and Item), as well as Warranty, Warranty Start, and Warranty End were selected. History, a built-in column, shows the transaction history of each serial unit.
