V9 - Serials in bins report
Use case
The Serials in bins report (Operations > Reports > Inventory > Serials in bins) shows the bin and location of serial-tracked items by serial number.
While the basics for running any report in SOS Inventory are covered in Reporting introduction and Running a report, the filters, options, and columns specific to the Serials in bins report are explained below.
Filters
Bin tracked location. Select All or individual bin-tracked locations. All is the default. Multiple individual bin-tracked locations can be selected.
Categories. Select All or individual categories. All is the default. Multiple individual categories can be selected. To use this filter, categories must be defined in SOS Inventory.
Item. Choose the serial-tracked item from the dropdown. If no item is selected, the report will include all serial-tracked items by default.
Serial number contains. Type all or part of a serial number to display matching serial items.
Bin number contains. Type all or part of a bin number to display the matching bins and the items they contain with their quantities.
Options
Show only if in bin. Displays only those serial units that are in bins.
Header. Enter header text for the report, if desired. The header appears when Display is selected under Retrieve your report. If the report is retrieved by Email or Download, the header will appear only if you print your spreadsheet.
Footer. Enter footer text for the report, if desired. The footer appears when Display is selected under Retrieve your report. If the report is retrieved by Email or Download, the footer will appear only if you print your spreadsheet and will display above the system-generated text, Report Generated [date] [timestamp].
Columns
The default columns for the Serials in bins report are Serial Number and Item.
Seven additional SOS column options are available, as well as any custom fields you have defined for items.
Sample Serials in bins report
The sample Serials in bins report below is filtered for California bin tracked as the Bin tracked location and Electronics:Resonator for headset (serial) as the Item. Only the default columns, Serial Number and Item, were selected. The Location and Bin columns are built into the report.
The Serials in bins report is organized according to serial number, in alpha-numeric order.
