V9 - Shopify cart connection checklist (with SKU/SKU matching to support inventory updates)
See Cart field descriptions for SOS Inventory's cart data fields.
-
Before connecting with Shopify, edit your items in both SOS Inventory or Shopify to ensure that the SKU of an item or variant in Shopify matches the SKU of the matching item in SOS Inventory.
edit_noteNOTE: Each item in SOS Inventory must be given a unique SKU so that Shopify is able to map to the correct SOS Inventory item. However, the same SKU can be used for multiple products in Shopify (for example, if you sell products with the same SKU at different prices for different types of customers).
-
Optional: In SOS, go to the Channels list (Tools & settings > Configuration > Lists > Channels) and create a channel named Shopify.
-
Connect SOS Inventory to Shopify. On the Task bar, go to Tools & settings > Configuration > Connections > Carts, then select +Add.
-
On the Cart connections page, choose Shopify from the Cart field’s dropdown list. The cart page will appear.

-
Enter a Name to help you easily identify this Shopify cart connection. A Description is optional.
-
From the Shopify app type dropdown, select Shopify App Credentials.
-
Go to the Instructions section and follow the directions to ensure Shopify is connected successfully with SOS Inventory.
- Enter your Shopify subdomain in the Shop field. Example: If you enter the subdomain shopname, your shop will be called shopname.myshopify.com
- If you have multiple locations, choose from the Location dropdown the one to be connected to your Shopify store.
- Follow the steps below in Shopify.
- Log in to your Shopify admin at https://accounts.shopify.com/.
