V9 - Ordering bin-tracked items sequentially on pick ticket PDFs


 

For locations that use bin tracking, using the PDF action of a pick ticket record will reorder items on the PDF according to the Sequence # field specified in their bin definitions. This can help your warehouse workers pick items more efficiently. 

 

In the example screenshot below, three bins—CH-002, CH-A003, and CH-A002—are shown, along with their respective Sequence # positions of 4, 3, and 5.

 

The sequencing of bins CH-A005, CH-A004, and CH-A002 are shown below.

 

Pick ticket SO-1002, shown in the screenshot below, has a line item in each of these bins. However, the order of the items listed in the transaction is not optimal for picking purposes.

When a PDF of the pick ticket is created, however, SOS Inventory reorders the line items, according to their sequencing:

 

Although system's Default Pick Ticket form template does not display bin numbers, you can add them by adding the «Bin» merge code to your pick ticket template. The screenshot below is a PDF of pick ticket SO-1002, which includes the bin number for each item. Refer to Form template merge field codes for more details.
