Available quantity for an item is wrong
If an open pick ticket was not generated from a sales order, the Available quantity calculation for each item on that pick ticket will be incorrect.
The formula SOS Inventory uses to calculate the Available quantity for an item is as follows:
Available = [In Stock] - [On Sales Order] - [On Pick Ticket (if not created from a sales order)] - [On Sales Receipt (if Include Sales Receipts in Available setting is enabled under Sales Settings > Sales Receipts)] - [Quantity at non-nettable locations] + [Inbound goods (if Include Incoming in Available setting is enabled under Sales Settings > General)]
To locate the pick tickets containing the item, do the following:
- To determine the starting point, go to the Pick Tickets list (Operations Menu > Fulfillment > Pick Tickets).
- In the Change Filter, change the Status to Show Open Only, then Apply.
- Click the Date column header to execute an ascending sort (the oldest date will be first).
- Note the date of the oldest transaction.
- Go to Company Menu > Export Data.
- Select the Pick Tickets link to go to the Pick Ticket Export page.
- In the Transaction Date section, enter a date range starting with the date you noted in Step 1c.
- Expand the Filters block.
- In the Item field, select the item name.
- In the Item field, select the item name.
- Expand the Columns block.
- Add Closed and Order to the Included list.
- Add Closed and Order to the Included list.
- In the Actions section, generate the report.
- Look for the pick tickets whose Closed column is False and Order column is blank. Closing those pick tickets should resolve the Available quantity.
