V9 - Notifications
SOS Inventory has a full in-app notification system similar to what you see in other web-based products like FaceBook and Gmail. It allows you to see notifications generated from different actions taken in the system from alerts, AOPs, or even transactions when you have been assigned one. SOS Inventory will alert you with a number in a red circle on the Task Bar's Notifications (bell) icon.
When you select the icon, a short title for each notification appears in a list. Notifications can be deleted by clicking on the trash can. You can also select the See all notifications link at the bottom of the list.
This link will take you to the Notifications list, where you can manage the notifications. You can see the full notification message, as well as the date and time it was created. In addition, you can create a task from within the Notifications list, as explained below.
Adding a task from within the Notifications list
Clicking the playlist_add icon on the Notifications list opens a Task pop-up window.
This allows you to create a task for yourself or to assign one to someone else without navigating to the Tasks list (User > Tasks). Once the task is saved, the system adds the task to the Tasks list, as well as to the Calendar (Operations > Calendar) on the task's specified due date.
If the user creating the task has checked the Delete the linked notification box, the system will also remove the notification from the Notifications list upon saving the task. Delete the linked notification is a unique field included only on tasks created from within the Notifications list.
Sending notifications via text or email
You can set whether you also want to receive notifications by email and/or text via the User settings page, located on the Task bar under the User menu. The system will use your login email address and/or the mobile phone you provide to send notifications. Regardless of the option you choose, all notifications will continue to appear in the application's Notifications feature.
