V9 - Transfer transaction field descriptions

If you have defined any custom fields for transfer forms, they will appear after the standard SOS Inventory transfer fields, in the Custom fields section. The fields will be of the input format and value that you define.

add_circle (Add lines). Click the icon to add additional lines to the line item table. The number of lines added is established by the number specified by your company in the Default lines setting (Tools & settings > Configuration > Company > General).

Class. QuickBooks Online class for this line item. This field is enabled only if class tracking is enabled in QuickBooks Online.

Clear lines. Adeleteicon in the column header of a table or line-item area clears the content of all line-items in a table, but not the lines themselves. By contrast, adeleteicon in a line-item row removes both a line and its contents.

Comment. An internal comment regarding this transfer. The comment is not displayed on the transfer when printed or emailed.

Create bill. Creates a bill for the carrier associated with the shipping method.

Date/time. Transaction date and timestamp.

Department. Department for this transaction.

Description. This multifunctional block can contain any of the following:

Fill. The Fill button, located in the Class and Job headers in the line-item table, applies the same class and/or job that was selected for the first line item.

From location. The location from which the items are being transferred.

Item. The item to be transferred. Enter/select the name of an existing item from the dropdown list. New items can also be added. If the item is bin-tracked at the From location and/or To location, you will need to select the appropriate From bin and/or To bin for the transferred item as well.

Job. Job to which this line item belongs. This box is available only if Job tracking (Tools & settings > ConfigurationProduction > Jobs) is enabled.

Multitool. The Multitool is a multifunctional icon located in the far-left column of a line item. The Insert tool, the arrow in the top left corner, inserts a blank line above the icon. The Copy tool, the encircled down arrow in the bottom right corner, copies a line and pastes the duplicate on the line immediately below the icon. The Move tool, a box containing six dots, moves and reorders line items. When your cursor moves inside the box, a hand appears. Click, hold, and drag the hand to move and reorder the line. View the video tutorial, Using the Multitool, to see this feature in action.

infoTIP: If another line item is directly below the one you intend to copy, use the Insert tool to add a blank line before copying. This protects the existing line item that is below from being overwritten.

Now. The Now button resets the Date/time field to the current date and time.

On hand. The in-stock quantity of the item.

Ship method. The carrier being used for the shipment. A ship method must be predefined in SOS Inventory to be available in the transfer's Ship method dropdown list. See Shipping methods for more information.

Shipping cost. The actual cost paid to a shipping carrier to ship the goods transferred.

To location. The location where the items are being transferred.

Tracking number. The number assigned to a shipped order by a carrier.

Transfer. The quantity of an item to be transferred.

Transfer reference #. Transaction reference number used to identify a transfer. The system will attempt to number the transaction automatically, according to your Transfer numbering specifications (Tools & settings > ConfigurationInventory > Transactions).

UOM. The unit of measure relevant to the item to be transferred. For this field to be accessible, Units of measure must be enabled in the General inventory settings (Tools & settings > ConfigurationInventory > General), as well as defined and assigned to individual items. Once established, the available unit of measure options for an item will appear in its UOM dropdown. Refer to Units of measure (UOMs) for more details about setting up and using UOMs.
