V8 - API
SOS Inventory has a standard REST API structure available to customers, providing you with the capability to access your accounts data through web requests. This is a pull functionality, not a push, which means that you request data as needed. No method currently exists for automating data that is sent to targets outside of SOS Inventory.
To start your API project, please go to the Developer portal to access the API registration process and the full documentation for working with the API. If you prefer, you can have a developer (either internal or external) register on the Developer portal to do the programming for you, but you as the data owner still have the ability to authorize the developer to access your data. You can limit them only to the data for which they have privileges, based on the user login at time of authorization. Please see more on this in the site’s documentation.
Although API connections must be created through the Developer portal, you may view and revoke API connections in SOS Inventory by going to Settings > API connections. Once revoked, requests made for data against your account will result in access denied.
