V8 - Adjustment form field descriptions


 

If you have defined any custom fields for adjustments, they will appear after the standard SOS Inventory fields, in alphabetical order. The fields will be of the input format and value that you have defined.

 

Account. The account to which the adjustment should be posted.

 

Add lines. Click to add additional lines to the transaction. The number of lines to be added by default can be specified under Company menu > Company settings.

 

Adjust cost basis by. The monetary value by which the total cost basis should be increased or decreased.

 

Adjust qty by. The difference between the Old quantity and New quantity values for an item, expressed as a positive or negative number. If the New quantity value is entered, the system will calculate the Adjust qty by value automatically.

 

Adjustment #. Transaction reference number used to identify an adjustment. This field is searchable. The system will attempt to number the transaction automatically, depending on your settings for adjustments, located under Settings > Inventory settings.

 

Class. QuickBooks Online class for this line item. This field is enabled only if class tracking is enabled in QuickBooks Online and then selected on the SOS Inventory QuickBooks setup page (Settings > QuickBooks setup).

 

Clear lines. Clears all data in the line-item block.

 

Comment. An internal note about the transaction.

 

Date/Time. Transaction date with timestamp.

 

Department. Department for this transaction. This field is enabled only if department tracking is enabled in QuickBooks Online and then selected on the SOS Inventory QuickBooks setup page (Settings > QuickBooks setup).

 

Description. The sales description for the item. If the item being adjusted is serial or lot tracked, this column will also allow a lot number with its expiration date and/or serial numbers to be specified.

 

edit_noteNOTE: Serial inventory can only be decreased by using an adjustment. Use an item receipt to increase quantities of serial items.

 

Item. Enter or select the desired item. New items can also be created.

 

Job. Job to which this line item belongs. This box is available on the Pro Plan if Job tracking is enabled in SOS Inventory on the Inventory settings page (Settings > Inventory settings).

 

Location. The location to which the adjustment pertains.

 

Multitool. The Multitool icon is located in the far-left column of a line item. The Insert tool, the blue triangle in the top left corner, inserts a blank line above the icon. The Copy tool, the encircled down arrow in the bottom right corner, copies a line and pastes the duplicate on the line immediately below the icon. The Move tool, a box containing three lines, moves and reorders line items. When your cursor moves inside the box, a four-pronged white arrow appears. Click, hold, and drag the arrow to move a line, which reorders all line items.

 

New quantity. The correct quantity for the item being adjusted. If the Adjust qty by value is entered, SOS Inventory will automatically calculate the New quantity value.

 

Old quantity. The existing quantity for the item, as specified in SOS Inventory, that needs changing.

 

Remove. Click the trash can icon to remove a line from the transaction.

 

UOM. The unit of measure if the Units of measure feature is enabled. Available on Plus and Pro plans.
