V8 - PayPal integration

For data field definitions, see Cart connection field descriptions.

SOS Inventory helps you integrate PayPal with QuickBooks Online. Now when you receive payments via PayPal (via an eBay auction, for example), you can automatically have a corresponding accounting transaction sent to QuickBooks Online. No manual entering of transactions is needed.

You must first configure SOS Inventory and your PayPal account. To do this, go on the Task bar to Settings > Cart connections, then select Add new. On the Cart connections page, go to the Cart field and choose PayPal from the dropdown list. Follow the instructions listed to complete the setup.

edit_noteNOTE: As part of the configuration, you must make sure that you use the same item names and/or numbers in PayPal as in SOS.

Once configured, each time you receive a payment via PayPal, PayPal will send a notification (IPN record) to SOS Inventory. Upon receiving notification, SOS will create a sales receipt and send it to QuickBooks Online.

SOS matches customers by first name/last name or by email address. If no match exists, SOS automatically adds a new customer. If the item name on a PayPal sales receipt is the same item name in SOS Inventory, the system will match the item when the sales receipt syncs from PayPal into SOS Inventory. The correct SOS Inventory item will appear on the SOS sales receipt.

This feature does not automatically generate shipment transactions. You must still create the shipment. However, you can set up an AOP rule to do this for you by creating a channel called PayPal.

If you use SOS Inventory for inventory management, you can also configure your PayPal transactions to send the item numbers so that we can automatically update your inventory counts. For more information on enabling that feature, please contact the Support team.
