V8 - UPS shipments and account setup
If you set up your UPS account to integrate with SOS Inventory, you can create shipments with UPS as your carrier. Currently, UPS shipping functionality is available only within the continental United States.
Once your UPS account has been set up in SOS Inventory, you can schedule UPS as your carrier by using the Ship via UPS action on the shipment record (Operations menu > Fulfillment > Shipments). As you are creating the UPS shipment, in the Payment field, you can either select the UPS account to pay for shipping or Pay with credit card.
After creating a UPS shipment, its record will be stored on the UPS shipments list (Company > Miscellaneous > UPS shipments).
UPS setup
- Go to Settings > UPS setup. A pop-up window like the screenshot below will appear:
- Enter your UPS account number and create an Account description.
- If you have a UPS account but do not know what it is, log in to UPS at www.ups.com, click on your initials icon at the right of the page, and choose Accounts and Payment.
- If you do not have an account with UPS, selecting Need a UPS account? will direct you to the UPS website to sign up for one.
- Select Connect to UPS. You are now ready to create UPS shipments.
Creating a UPS shipment
To create a shipment with UPS:
- Locate the desired transaction on the Shipments list (Operations menu > Fulfillment > Shipments).
- Select Ship via UPS from the shipment record's Actions menu dropdown. This will take you to the Create UPS shipment page.
- Provide the necessary package information.
- Select shipping options (if your account has been authenticated in the settings, you will also see your special rates under the shipping options).
- Select payment method.
- Select Next in the lower right corner of the screen. A Confirm UPS shipment page will appear with the shipping details and cost.
- Select the Ship now button in the lower right corner to complete the shipment.
Voiding UPS shipments, printing labels, and creating return labels
The creation of shipping labels and voided UPS shipments are handled on the UPS Shipments list (Company Menu > Miscellaneous > UPS Shipments). Labels can be printed as an action or batch action using the Print label feature. Other Actions menu options include Create return label and Void.
